Can you tell me more about the two charities benefiting from the Santa Run?

Will we be able to check our belongings?
Yes, we will have a sweat check available from 3-5:30 pm. It will be located by the stage in the middle of Christmas in the Park.
Do I need to attach my timing chip?
No, the timing chip is already attached to the bib.
Do we need to return the timing chip?
No, but please place bib in our composting bins. Thanks for helping us be green!
What comes with the Santa costume?
A hat, beard, jacket with a belt, and pants!
How do the Santa costumes run in size?
New sizes for 2013. Please check back in August for size break downs.
Where does the race start?
It starts on Santa Clara Street, between Almaden Boulevard and San Pedro Street.
Where can spectators watch the race?
Spectators can watch from anywhere along the course.
Do you know if we can register as a group?
When you register you get to choose the quantity of each ticket type you would like and from there you fill out all the information for how many total tickets you are purchasing. If you would like everyone to be recognized on a team have the first person who registers create your team name and then everyone who registers afterwards can select that team under the “team” drop down menu.
Are there any discounts?
No. There are no individual or group discounts. This event raises money for two beneficiaries, so we would like to give as much money as possible to them.
WHAT’S ALLOWED IN THE RACE
Are baby strollers allowed in the race?
Yes, but please line up towards the back of the pack. Please also let faster runners pass while you are on the course, stay on the right hand side.
Can my dog run with me?
No, we do not allow dogs on our courses.
Are bikes, roller blades, scooters, skateboards or pets allowed on the course?
Can I listen to headphones while participating?
Yes, headphones are allowed.
How many water stops will there be?
There will be a water stop halfway though the course and at the conclusion of the course.
What if I need medical help at the end of the race?
There will be first aid responders and an ambulance at the finish line.
Will there be medical help on the race course?
There will be bicycle EMTs along the course.
Where and when will the race results be posted?
After the race, results will be posted on our website at www.santarunsv.com. Also if you entered in your cell phone number when you registered you will receive a text message with your finish time.
Will there be rewards for the runners?
Medals and Sports Basement gift certificates will be given to the first three placers in each age category. The age categories are as follows:
10-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

How do I get my volunteer slip signed for school?
Please approach the staff member that signed you in and notify them that you need your volunteer slip signed for school so they can sign it off.

When/where do we pick up our Santa Run long-sleeved race shirts?
At bib pick up, location and time to be determined.
Do the race shirts come in women’s and men’s sizes?
No, they are unisex. Youth sizes will also be available.
I registered for the wrong shirt size, can I change it?
Yes, you can pick up whichever size you would like at packet pick up. For best selection, arrive at the packet pick-up early.
What do I need when I go to bib pick-up?
You’ll need to know the first and last name of the runner and their bib number.
Is the race happening rain or shine?
Yes, Santa delivers in all weathers and so will we!
Where are the restrooms?
Restrooms are located near the starting line and at the south end of Christmas in the Park.
I’ve lost someone (child, parent, friend) what do I do?
Go to the Christmas in the Park information booth or the starting line announcer stage.
Where are the nearest transit stops?
The nearest transit is at the San Jose Diridon station, which is served by buses, light-rail, Caltrain, ACE and Capitol Corridor. They can also use VTA light rail by the San Jose Convention Center. There will be a copy of light-rail and Caltrain schedules at the info booth.
