The Silicon Valley Leadership Group’s tutoring initiative, 1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds, strives to find 1000 caring adult volunteers to serve as tutors and mentors to public school students. Through 1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds, we make it easy for you to have a big impact with only a modest time commitment—as little as one hour a week, for 10-12 weeks. We are teaming up with one of our non-profit partners, Catholic Charities’ CORAL (Communities Organizing Resources to Advance Learning) for a book donation that will benefit their elementary and middle school program sites. The CORAL after school program focuses on three areas of student support: literacy, homework and enrichment/physical activity. Students receive a balanced literacy lesson which includes a read aloud, discussion, and independent reading. Please support CORAL by donating new or gently used books for elementary and middle school students!
